Objective: Design, digitally fabricate, and build a universal stamping machine that utilized rotary motion and spring actuation to allow a user to stamp once and reset on its own for the next actuation.
Outcome: I utilized the crank and slider mechanism with walls to keep the motion linear and experimented in spring placement for the reset for the next actuation.
Design Requirements
- Uses rotary motion
- Resets automatically for next actuation
- Controlled stamp destination
- Spring moves linearly with hard stops
- Stamp travels a minimum of 2 inches
- Operable with one hand
- Mechanism is visible
